My name is Léanie, creator of the South African Lifestyle blog called Blue Poinsettia. Previously known as Leah Beauty.
I remember so well when I was still very young that my sister had a stunning peach nail polish shade that I have borrowed so many times to paint my nails with, since I had a t-shirt with peach flowers and that shade have complimented my look very well! Even today when I'm in the beauty aisle I will take a look and hope that maybe today I will find THAT shade again!
Furthermore I always loved bubble-baths! Every year and for my birthdays I would receive some bubble-baths all nicely wrapped up - oh the joys of receiving gifts, will always excites me! I'm a Cape Town chick to experience a bubble bath right now are something that are just a wish!
I also still remember the first photo that I had to took and that was a fruit display that my Mom have made for our Church bazaar. It's from that moment that my passion have began to take photos of food and gradually I have started into capture photo's nature! I love to be outside on a sunny day (warm not HOT!) There are always something that captures my eye!
From time to time I will also post some poems here that I have written. Poetry for me are the essence of the heart!
I always loved to read poetry. My loved for that have started to take flight when I was in Grade 9. I had a wonderful English teacher and she made poetry came to life for me. Only later in life have I started to write myself.
Many people wonder when do you feel it's the right time to write a poem? To answer that question I would have to say for me it's when I feel sad. It's the only time when I'm more connected to what's I'm feeling inside of me and I let those feelings out through the medium of poetry. There might be an occasion that I will have a poem of pure happiness, but the theme of those poetry will differ.
So here are my blog that I enjoy spending my free time on writing blog post that are all related to what gives me little pleasures in life! I hope that you will love spending time on this little corner of the blogosphere with me...
So let's get a little bit more personal....
I live in Cape Town, South Africa with my parents. They really support me in everything I do and I'm blessed to still have them in my life.
FOOD / DESERT: I really do like to nibble on fresh Figs (Adam's Apple), Pineapple and dried Apple pieces are my favourite snack anytime. Muffins (blueberry), Doughnuts (ring ones with icing, just NO chocolate ones - please! ) and Fish & Chips! Beside from Ice-Cream I would enjoy a Milk Tart, but it MUST have cinnamon on it. On some occasions I had seen some Milk Tars without any cinnamon on it - like what on earth where they thinking?
BEVERAGES: Milkshakes, Smoothies and White Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows!
BOOKS: My favourite Afrikaans author are Susan Coetzer and for English authors Karen Kingsbury, Beverly Lewis and lastly the man who really knows how to write romantic novels are Nicolas Sparks.
MOVIES: Mr Holland's Opus, Dirty Dancing, A Walk To Remember & Luke Warm. I simply can't remember how many times I have watched these three movies and I will always be over the moon when it's on the Television!
COLOUR: My all time favourite colour are blue (Tiffany Blue) I think it's due to the fact that it reminds me of the sea and that alone have the ability to make me feel relaxed and at ease.
SOAPIE: What can I say 7de Laan are my one and only soapie that I still watch from the beginning!
COLLECTIONS: I'm a huge fan of angles, the wall above my PC are decorated with angles and I love collecting sea shells and rocks.

Oh and don't forget that I also love Cats. Shhh...I have a growing selection of cats mugs - simply can't resist purchasing an adorable cat mug....
A little more about Blue Poinsettia....
Founded in 2015, previously known as Leah Beauty which my focus was just on beauty back then. Creating fresh and original content including product reviews, beauty tips and tricks. I have re-branded in December 2017 that would enable me to express myself in more topics.
I have been featured many times in Rubybox Newsletters for Beauty campaigns that I was selected for such as Dove, Tempo etc.
I was also featured in "The Poetry Daily" (15 February 2016) for my poem that I have written. My inspiration came form essence nail polish names and I have incorporated those name in the poem.
Some of my photos was also published for Leef Tydskrif [Facebook Page] for their daily devotionals. (30 May 2014 & 20 October 2014)
